JOB SUMMARY
The Gerlach Residence Lead will assist with allocations of all housing in the Estates and for BRC.
This role will help support reservations, check-in/check-out, security, cleaning, caretaking, and housing for all visitors (including staff and guests) at the Estates and any acquired or rental housing units.
This is a temporary, full-time, non-exempt role, based in Gerlach, NV running from July to October, 2024.
The deadline to apply for this role is 5:00 pm Pacific on April 1st 2024 DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Property Security (10%) Greet visitors, staff, utility workers, and inspectors.
Ensure property remains secure and the closed houses remain unoccupied.
Perform daily checks at all of the Housing Properties.
Property Caretaking (65%) Perform weekly walk-throughs of the properties, noting safety and maintenance concerns and passing information to the Gerlach Residence Manager.
Assist the Gerlach Residence Manager with housing needs for staff, visitors, and any other guests as required.
Will be responsible for the safety, security, maintenance and general oversight of the various Gerlach properties.
Work with the Gerlach Residence Manager to place BMTs as needed on the properties.
Proper placement will allow various teams to leave the properties on time to meet their deadlines.
Work with Housing Crew in the collection and removal of trash from their respective properties weekly.
Report any property damage and/or malfunctions, misuse of property, safety issues, or concerns to the Gerlach Residence Manager.
Being available after hours to respond to property maintenance emergencies or other issues.
Administrative (20%) Assist the Gerlach Residence Manager in maintaining property status and improvement tracking documents.
Follow crew schedules to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
As needed, submit receipts and any expense reports, ensuring forms are complete and submitted on time.
Attend Burning Man Staff Meetings, and share the information with crew.
Attend required meetings for NVO Managers and Black Rock City Staff.
Other Functions and Responsibilities (5%) Maintain positive relationships with nearby neighbors and community members year-round to keep the lines of communication open and help offset the impact of the event period; report any necessary concerns the neighbors have shared to the NVO Council.
Maintain clear and regular lines of communication with NVO and DPW Team members, providing regular reports and feedback as necessary.
Improve upon Standard Operating Procedures and implement strong succession plans.
Familiarize yourself with, and act in accordance with, Burning Man’s staff policies.
Abide by the rules and codes of conduct described in the NVO Leadership Toolbox, NVO Handbook, Ranch Protocols, and the Gerlach Residence S.

COMPENSATION: Individual compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors, including prior experience and geographical location.
The anticipated pay rate for this position is $15.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Off-playa: This position requires periods of heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing.
This position will be physically demanding, and requires individuals with good physical health, and endurance.
Work will include the need to find and meet with department representatives who may not be in the vicinity therefore this could include walking or using some form of transportation.
Much of the work will be in outside weather conditions and will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles as well as possible extremes in temperature.
On-playa: This role has no playa responsibilities.
