Description
Position Summary:
Manages, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for the Medical Records Department in support of hospital strategic objectives and program planning.
Ensures that all health information management practices comply with JCAHO, District, and other applicable standards.
Oversees budgeting, quality improvement, staffing, evaluation and supervision.
Develops systems and procedures to provide data for internal analysis and external reporting.
Requirements
Education:
Associate's Degree in Health Informatics and Information Management Education, or Healthcare-related field.
Certified RHIT/RHIA.
Experience:
5 years' experience in Health Information Management in a hospital setting, preferred.
3 years' experience as an RHIT/RHIA, preferred.
Progressive leadership experience, preferred.
Must obtain the Registered Health Information Administrator certification within
18mos of hire.
Cerner experience, preferred.
Job Knowledge:
Knowledge of HIM services: Preferred knowledge HIM Systems; especially with CPSI and Cerner.
Skills:
Strong organizational & interpersonal skills.
